Privacy policy
Who we are
Auto Locksmith Specialists is a family-run business owned and operated by Steve Handyside and Matt Brooks, trading from 6 Martins Hill Lane, Christchurch, Dorset, BH23 7NJ. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
What information we collect and why
We do not have a contact form on this website. The only way to reach us is by phone. When you call, we may take your name, phone number, vehicle make and model, and the location you need us to attend. We use this information solely to deliver the service you have requested.
When you visit this website, we automatically collect limited technical information — including your approximate location (derived from IP address), the type of device and browser you are using, and which pages you viewed. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to process this data. It helps us understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
Google Ads and the forwarding number
We advertise on Google. If you arrive at our site via a Google ad, Google may temporarily replace our phone number with a Google forwarding number. This allows Google to record that a phone call took place following an ad click, so we can measure how well our advertising is working. The call is still connected directly to us; the forwarding number is operated by Google and is not stored by us. Google may retain call data in accordance with Google's privacy policy.
Cookies
This site uses cookies set by Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads. Analytics cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) persist for up to two years and help us count visits and understand navigation patterns. Google Ads cookies track whether a visit came from an ad click.
A cookie preference banner appears on your first visit. If you do not interact with it, it disappears after 10 seconds and analytics and advertising cookies remain active. You can change your preference at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
If you decline advertising cookies, Google Consent Mode v2 is used to suppress ad-personalisation data while still allowing basic, cookieless measurement.
Who we share data with
We share visitor data only with Google (Analytics and Ads). We do not use any other tracking, analytics, or advertising services. We do not sell personal data to anyone.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact Steve Handyside at steve.carkey@gmail.com or call our 24/7 line on 07967 624846.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe your data has been handled incorrectly.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if our data practices change. The current version applies from June 2026.
